    Change your perspective. What do you see when you look up? Ceilings, skies, clouds, trees, birds in flight, skyscrapers? Try going low and looking up.

  2. Meeting

    Monique Campbell will talk about three points that will boost confidence when shooting street images:

    Practice, Persverence, & Passion..

    Monique will show over 80 images to demonstrate her own personal experience, from when she began shooting street photography in 2016 to the present. 

    Using the before and after versions she will show how she crops and edits her images.

    Many tips and tricks will be discussed, with which she hopes  will inspire us to go out and shoot street photography.

  3. Outing
    Granville IslandOct 15, 2022

    Granville Island is always an interesting place to visit and a great location to take photos. You can find buskers at various spots that provide you free opportunities for street photography. The Public Market featuring assortment of colourful food and produce stores, will sure be a good place to get your shots for our October theme 'Harvest'!

    Meet up: In front of the Waterfront Theatre ( right-hand side as you enter Granville Island)


    Logistics:

    Driving - Free parking before 11:00 am. Pay parking 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. Weekend rate $3/hour or Day Pass $21.

    Public transit - Bus no. 50 False Creek. Bus comes from Gastown in the downtown area, along Granville St., and stops just off Granville Island, at the intersection of Anderson St. and West 2nd Ave. It will let you off on the southeast side of West 2nd Ave.

  5. Theme
    HarvestSubmissions due Oct 21, 2022

    The time is ripe for photos of all aspects of harvest - eg, fruits, vegetables, flowers. Visit farms (pumpkins, cranberries, nuts), farmer's markets or be creative with your bounty in a still life.

    Note: Because we will transition to the new website November 1st, October's theme will start and end earlier - from Sept 21 to Oct 21. Voting is from Oct 22 to 28. Take a look at the results on the old site before the switch.  Sept theme will end as usual on Sep 30 and Sept and Oct themes will overlap by about week.
